I’ve got Liability and Uninsured motorist insurance policy for my car and need to know what exactly is “uninsured motorist” coverage? I know liability coverage is that which will pay for our fault in an accident, but what uninsured coverage does?

i am sceptical of my ability to recover repair expences in small claims court, because the uninsured has no job and no assetes…so what is left to do?
my boyfriend was involved in a car accident two days ago. he was a passenger with his friend who was driving, who has no insurance on the car being driven. someone rear-ended them very hard, totaling both cars. the person who rear-ended them DOES have insurance. since the accident, my boyfriend has been having very bad back pain, where he can hardly walk and barely made it out of bed this morning. is the insured person who hit them responsible for any medical bills? or is he not, since he happened to hit an uninsured driver and injured the passenger?
sorry, i should have clarified that it was california.
I was hit from behind by an uninsured motorist and I filed a claim on my own auto policy under the uninsured motorist coverage. I do not have an attorney at this point, and I don’t know what to expect. My medical treatment is almost over and I will be ready to settle the claim soon.
After being injured by an uninsured driver, the uninsured policy on my own insurance stepped in and paid for the medical treatment. Now they have made an offer for settlement that includes pain and suffering as well as loss of work, etc. It is a resonable offer, yet I believe a larger setttlement could be justified. My question is: Would it be prudent to negotiate in this fashion with ones’ own insurance? Could there be reprocussions involing higher premiums? I look forward to all insightful responses.
Hi there… I am currently on a HSMP based visa in UK and will be applying for a General Skilled Migrant visa in 2010. What I need to know is that can a traffic conviction of uninsured driving makes me ineligible for to apply? As the form does ask for convictions specifically pointing out traffic convictions.
The Republicans say “no” a lot, but what is their answer to the millions of uninsured (health insurance) Americans. What about the underinsured?
Many people can’t buy insurance, even if they want to, as they are locked out on the grounds of pre-existing conditions. Others are charged exorbitant rates, while yet others are denied claims, or paid too little on claims.
With 60% of bankruptcies in the U.S. being the result of health care issues, it is obvious that this isn’t a case of people “not paying their way”.
Some of these answers prove my point. The righties believe people intentionally wait for an illness to try to get insurance? Wow.
Details are scant, but, the CBO has stated that this is their estimate of those that still could not get health insurance for various reasons mostly related to cost.
Seeing that the justification for “reforming” health care was to insure the uninsured, why would this be considered reform worth justifying now?
Is this now just purely political?
I was in an accident and am unlicensed and uninsured both cars are messed up. The other driver was most likely at fault what will happen?
Republican opponents of health care reform were aked, last week, if they knew how many of their constituents are uninsured. Joe Wilson, Steve King, Jim DeMint, Darryl Issa and Virginia Foxx were all asked by someone at starkreports.com. None of them could answer the question.
