I was hit from behind by an uninsured motorist and I filed a claim on my own auto policy under the uninsured motorist coverage. I do not have an attorney at this point, and I don’t know what to expect. My medical treatment is almost over and I will be ready to settle the claim soon.

After being injured by an uninsured driver, the uninsured policy on my own insurance stepped in and paid for the medical treatment. Now they have made an offer for settlement that includes pain and suffering as well as loss of work, etc. It is a resonable offer, yet I believe a larger setttlement could be justified. My question is: Would it be prudent to negotiate in this fashion with ones’ own insurance? Could there be reprocussions involing higher premiums? I look forward to all insightful responses.

My medical expenses for a Florida accident were covered by my health care insurance. At the time they asked if i had any PIP coverage, which I didn’t. Subsequently, I received some funds for uninsured motorist. Is this considered a PIP payment in a no fault state?
