dollars just to treat one uninsured person. For example, my friend had a massive heart attack last week. They gave him 2 days to live, but he’s still surviving racking up huge debt. The hospital is paying for the doctors, nurses, medications etc. He can’t pay it, so my question is: how can hospitals stay afloat when this situation happens daily. Somewhere they are getting money to continue to operate. Where does that come from? The government? If so, which agency reimburses them. If not, how can they continue to pay doctors/nurses etc. when they don’t have the money?
