Because the object of the government run option is so the people who can not afford health care have coverage. to do this you will have to make the premiums very low, lower than anything on the market. the Insurance company’s will never be able to offer people premiums that low. thus every one goes to the public option. the Insurance company’s no longer offer medical insurance. the Government has taken over the whole medical system, the type of coverage the Government offers will not be top medical care, because the premiums are so cheep , but hay every one will be covered , and by the way it will be mandatory.

Well first off some HAVE an option, it’s called pay for it(but they don’t want to because they would have to cut back on luxuries, or they think they won’t get sick). Second the “public option” is all part of a Govt Takeover PLAN. Here’s how it works. The Govt WILL use tax dollars(don’t deny it because we know they will) and that will allow them to charge less. They will charge Companies taxes to help pay for it, and they are admitting they are considering ending the tax free idea(like Candidate McCain had suggested and CANDIDATE Obama was so against). Companies will either DROP Health Insurance OR charge more. Soon the Govt option will be the cheapest out there. Then once we are all on it they will just start charging more. The idea is already oh they can charge less because they won’t be for profit. Yeah but they will also have to take EVERYONE, including people the Insurance Companies WON’T cover because it would cost too much. If the “public option” was actually set as premiums that PAID TOTALLY FOR IT then it would cost MORE then the “for profit” companies. There will be two options, either pay by charging the taxpayer(either through tax on insurance, which will be passed along or straight up our taxes) OR crappy Insurance since they can’t afford much when they have to cover everyone. Besides the final plan is once people get on the public option they will want it to be paid without having to give money to it. So people will say take it from our taxes, like how most insurance from jobs is taken from the paycheck BEFORE you get the paycheck(so you never miss it).

It’s simple, because it’s not their party that suggested it, it has to be bad.
